Full description and what we offer
Skyline Outfitters operates on a family-owned working cattle ranch in NE Wyoming north of I-90, between Gillette and Devil's Tower. Licensed under Wyoming Outfitters License # BG-093, they're authorized to hunt private land, National Forest, BLM, and State lands in the region. Shawn and Ann Fricke manage the operation—Shawn brings six years of Marine Corps service and over six years of outfitting experience across Colorado, New Mexico, Nebraska, Montana, and Wyoming. Ann grew up on the ranch and handles logistics and "some of the best western hospitality and home cooking around."
Big Game: - Elk hunts (Sept-Oct, bow or rifle) with bugling bulls in timber - Mule deer & whitetail (October spot-and-stalk or November rut hunts) - Mountain lion hunts (Oct 1–Apr 30, OTC tags, up to 5 days, average 125–145 lb cats) - Buffalo hunts (late Nov–early Dec, mature bulls and younger meat animals) - Antelope hunts (3-day hunts or 5-day deer/antelope combos)
Upland & Specialty: - Spring & fall turkey (Merriam gobblers) - Prairie dog hunting (8,000+ acres of towns—"shoot till your barrel melts")
They build custom rifles on Remington 700 footprints with stainless steel Krieger or Proof Research carbon fiber barrels. Options include H&S Precision or AG Composite stocks in 6.5mm, 7mm, and .30 caliber configurations. All rifles come mounted with Huskemaw or Leupold optics and tested with ammo optimized for your specific rifle. They also set up factory rifles with your choice of optics.
Their 2-day shooting school covers recoil management, trigger control, breathing, wind reading, and ballistics apps. Includes 3 nights lodging, all meals, curriculum, range time on a 1500-yard known-distance range, hunting scenario stages, prairie dog hunting, and use of custom long-range rifles. Small class sizes with high instructor-to-student ratios.
Mountain Lion hunts have averaged success in under a day due to waiting for perfect conditions and using well-trained hound dogs. Flexible scheduling is a plus. Cats over 150 lbs incur a $2,000 trophy fee.
All hunts include lodging at their main camp on private property, meals, and professional guides. Hunts range from 2–5 days depending on the game and season.
