Star Valley Outfitters operates out of the Little Greys River area near Alpine, Wyoming, offering rifle and archery hunts for elk, mule deer, moose, and bear. All hunts run from the same base camp, meaning you can focus on animals instead of moving between locations.

Hunting happens on horseback in roadless backcountry. The camp itself has modern amenities, but once you're in the field, it's canvas tents and high country. The season runs mid-September through late October.

Elk herds produce a high percentage of harvest opportunity, with 5-6 point bulls standard and better animals regularly located. Mule deer typically run trophy quality—the camp has taken 185"-200"+ bucks over recent seasons, featured on Extreme Outer Limits TV.

Moose hunting is available for once-in-a-lifetime tag holders (Shiras moose are common in the area). A small bighorn sheep herd also inhabits the hunt area for tag holders pursuing their slam.

Nonresidents must apply by deadline for each species. Wyoming runs a draw system: most species (elk, mule deer, antelope) use a 75/25 resident/nonresident split. Once-in-a-lifetime tags (moose, sheep) run 90/10. Star Valley Outfitters helps navigate the application process—it's complicated and the outfitter knows the system.
