Duncan B. Lingle, owner and Chief Instructor of TRAEX Tactical Solutions LLC, spent 32 years in law enforcement—first as a Special Agent with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and later as a Police Officer for the Cheyenne, Wyoming Police Department. In 2018, after 28 years with the DEA, he retired as Section Chief of Office of Special Projects/Strategic Planning and Support Section. That background shapes everything TRAEX does.

The name TRAEX stands for training and experience. It was created in honor of Lingle's grandfather, Kendall Ide Lingle, an avid yachtsman, sailor, aviator, and civic servant who focused on youth at risk. The family tradition of community service continues today.
