Justin (JJ) and Penny Ready-Jarrett of Wapiti Ridge Outfitters built their operation on genuine passion for the land and wildlife. With over two decades in the outfitting business across Wyoming's remote Bighorn National Forest, Cloud Peak Wilderness, and Sonora, Mexico's desert hunting grounds, they've created a team-based operation that balances success with respect for the animals and terrain.

"When you do what you love, you love what you do even on the most difficult days" - that's the philosophy driving Team WRO daily.

Wapiti Ridge operates trophy hunts for multiple species across Wyoming's most remote wilderness areas:

• •Elk hunts in the Shoshone Wilderness and Bighorn National Forest
• •High country mule deer in Wyoming and Sonora, Mexico
• •Black bear hunts
• •Moose hunts
• •Sheep hunts

Their success comes from intimate knowledge of the terrain, quality horses, and guides like Austin Bennett (head hunting guide) and Clay Bullard who know where to find animals. JJ emphasizes customization—if you need something specific for your hunt, they'll work with you.

Wapiti Ridge runs three distinct summer trip programs:

• •5-Star Cowboy Glamp Trips - Base camp in wall tents at 30 miles from Ten Sleep, Wyoming above Battle Park campground. Full amenities: comfortable cots, hot showers, campfire meals (Wyoming beef steaks, Dutch oven cooking). Days include fly fishing for Golden Trout, hiking, wildflower viewing, wildlife spotting. Camp chef Lexi Trout and Kate Robinson handle meals. Expect Cowboy Caviar appetizers, cold beverages, and stargazing nights.

• •Fisherman's Dream Trips - Guided fly fishing expeditions targeting streams and mountain lakes

• •Progressive Pack Trips & Drop Camps - Multi-day backcountry adventures with customized routing

• •Cloud Peak/Bomber Mountain Challenge - Extended wilderness expeditions for serious backcountry adventurers

• •Horsemanship Clinics - Instruction programs run by Penny and Mark Patterson (Cross Country Equine specialist)

Wapiti Ridge intentionally mentors young guides and wranglers through experienced operators, ensuring skill transfer and consistent quality.

Since 2022, WRO partners with Operation Pay It Forward, a nonprofit connecting U.S. military veterans with outdoor healing experiences. Hose & Rubber Supply (Wyoming/Utah company) sponsors veteran trips. Multiple tours combat vets have participated, creating lifelong friendships and memories in the Cloud Peak Wilderness.
