Wind River Outdoor operates out of Lander, Wyoming, dead center for access to some of the best trout water in the state. Their guide service, operated through sister company Wind River Troutfitters, specializes in float trips and walk-and-wade fishing on three primary water systems.
Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge – Green River A scenic float trip through protected wildlife habitat. Full day only.
Bighorn River at Thermopolis This tailwater fishery downstream of Boysen Reservoir holds Brown, Rainbow, and Cutthroat trout in high numbers. The fertile water coming out of the reservoir creates ideal conditions year-round. Best fishing: March through June and September through November. Drift boats get you to productive stretches.
Local Streams and High Mountain Lakes Streams around Lander run best July through mid-October. Mountain lakes offer a different experience for anglers looking beyond tailwater fishing.

All trips include rods and reels (or bring your own), beverages, snacks, and lunch on full-day trips.
Gratuity is separate and typically runs 15-20% of the trip cost. Wyoming fishing licenses are required and available at the shop or online through Wyoming Game and Fish.

50% deposit required at booking. Full balance due 14 days before your trip. Reservations made within 7 days are charged in full immediately.
Cancellations 30+ days out get a full refund minus 5% processing. Less than 30 days? You forfeit the deposit. The company reserves the right to cancel for unsafe conditions (full refund minus 5% processing) but won't refund mid-trip cancellations due to conditions. Wind River recommends purchasing trip insurance through Global Rescue for additional protection.
No-shows incur a 15% gratuity charge to your card on file.
Wind River Outdoor also operates a brick-and-mortar location in Lander carrying fly fishing tackle, fly tying supplies, apparel, and footwear. Free shipping on online orders over $49 (U.S. and Canada). 30-day return policy on most items. Open Monday-Saturday 8 AM–6 PM, Sunday 9 AM–4 PM MST.
