The Western Wyoming Rifleman's Association (WWRA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting marksmanship, firearms safety, and recreational shooting sports in the Star Valley region of Wyoming. Operating the Coal Canyon Shooting Sports Facility, WWRA offers a comprehensive shooting venue with diverse range capabilities for rifle, pistol, and shotgun sports.
Located 25 miles south of Afton on 140 acres of leased Lincoln County land, the Coal Canyon facility includes:
Most facilities are available to properly trained and qualified club members 7 days per week. The range also opens to the general public on days when certified Range Safety Officers are present; a nominal daily use fee applies for non-members. Public entities including Boy Scouts, law enforcement, and U.S. Military can arrange facility use at no charge. The range closes to all vehicular traffic (including snowmobiles) from December 1 to May 1.
WWRA is committed to promoting good sportsmanship, wise wildlife resource management, and youth involvement in shooting sports. The association conducts training classes, NRA-sanctioned competitions, and provides educational resources on marksmanship and firearms safety.
