Full description and what we offer
Northwest Archers Association has been operating out of Anchorage since 1984. They're a non-profit organization responsible for maintaining the only NFAA sanctioned field archery range in Alaska, located in Kincaid Park.
The range includes: - Public Practice Range: 10-yard to 80-yard course, open to everyone - Member Field Courses: Three 14-target field ranges (approximately 1.5 miles each) plus one 26-target bag range - Traditional & Compound: The bag range works well for both styles and bowhunting practice
Crossbows and broadheads are not permitted in the park.
Northwest Archers sponsors the State Field Shoot (running since 1986) and teaches free community lessons twice a year through the Municipality—typically 8-10 weeks each season with an average class size of 30 archers. They've partnered with Alpine Alternatives to offer archery lessons for blind children and co-sponsor the Unmarked 3-D shoot with Black Sheep Bowmen's Club.
Their instructors are NASP or USA Archery certified, ensuring solid fundamentals instruction for beginners and developing archers alike.
Members get gate codes and access to all field ranges. The membership process is straightforward—fill out a waiver, pay your annual fee online or by check. Contact the team at [email protected] or (907) 240-6533 for details.
