Williams Sportsman's Club operates a multi-discipline shooting facility in Williams, Arizona, serving shooters from beginner to experienced. The club is member-supported and volunteer-driven, with an active board and professional RSO cadre managing all operations.
The range hosts multiple disciplines:
- •Rifle and Pistol Ranges – General shooting with target stands and 100-yard and 200-yard setups
- •Sporting Clays – Shotgun matches held monthly (next event: January 25th with 10 AM and 1 PM start times)
- •Tactical/Practical Firearms Challenge – Pistol-focused event held monthly in pistol bay #1
- •.22 Rimfire Challenge – Seasonal shoot featuring iron sights and optics at 75 yards
- •Ladies Pistol Instruction – NRA curriculum classes (spring 2026 sessions planned; 14 ladies completed fall 2025 training)
- •Youth Rifle Practice – Skill-building instruction led by NRA-certified instructors
The club maintains 27 RSOs with 8 NRA-certified instructors. Range duty is tracked and scheduled. The club has recently implemented professional vetting processes for volunteer RSOs and is actively recruiting additional Range Safety Officers.
Over 1,100 members and guests used the range in 2025. If you're interested in becoming an RSO, ask any on-duty officer about requirements.

Family memberships are currently increasing in popularity. New members signed up regularly—18 in November 2025 alone.
- •Remington 870 pump shotguns (12 and 20 gauge) available for use at sporting clays
- •Bullhorn for range communication during busy days
- •Safety instruction dummy gun ($50 rubber training tool)
- •Concrete target stand bases installed fall 2025 to withstand Arizona afternoon winds
- •Range maintenance reporting system – RSOs note repairs needed in white binder for the maintenance crew
WSC is an NRA Recruiter offering discounted NRA memberships and renewals. The club has run:
- •NRA First Steps pistol program (14 ladies participated; 9 on waiting list)
- •NRA Marksmanship Qualifications (open to youth and family; targets provided)
- •Certified NRA instructor-led youth rifle practice
Board meetings held second Wednesday of each month at 4 PM (American Legion Hall, 425 W. Grant Ave., Williams). Meetings are open to all members and the public. The club operates under formal SOPs with ongoing refinements to RSO parameters and range use policies.

Volunteers regularly conduct range maintenance projects—fall 2025 saw 10 members build concrete target stand bases in a single day.
