Firearms stay unloaded except when shooting. When you arrive, keep your gun in a case or bag until a Safety Officer says "make ready." CCW holders: don't unload in your car. Walk up to a member, they'll guide you to a safe area to unload. After the match, reverse the process.
First Wednesday after USPSA (usually first Wednesday of the month), 6:30 pm at Tony's Pizza, 4750 Coffee Rd, Bakersfield. Club provides pizza, salad, soft drinks. Discuss club business, shooting topics, and how to get involved.
Members genuinely want you to succeed. New shooters get guided through stages, taught safety, offered loaner equipment. There's zero gatekeeping—if you want to learn, they'll teach you. The club also focuses on Second Amendment advocacy, gun safety education, youth shooting sports, and local charity events.
First-time shooters: You don't need to watch—just come shoot. Bring your gun, ammo, magazines, and a willingness to be safe and have fun.
Pre-registration available for USPSA matches via Practiscore—convenient but not required for regular monthly events. Special matches (Charity Match, Winter Classic Multi-gun) fill quickly and require pre-registration.
Note: SIG P320 and variants (X series, M17, M18) are not currently allowed at 5 Dogs matches.
