Full description and what we offer
Madison Society Foundation started in 1996 when Col Virgil McVicker and likeminded patriots saw the need for an organization dedicated to defending constitutional rights. In 2001, the foundation received 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status from the US government. What began as a gun control awareness non-profit evolved into a training organization offering CCW certification courses—all while maintaining its core mission of Second Amendment litigation and legal defense.
They offer multiple certification options:
All courses require membership to participate. Annual membership is $30 and extends to all family members living at the same address.
Mandatory Equipment: - Your handgun(s) for qualification - 4 magazines or speed loader per firearm - Hearing protection - Eye protection - Belt with pants that have belt loops - Comfortable shoes (no flip-flops, sandals, or heels) - Notepad and pencil/pen
Their renewal courses are accepted by: - Turlock, Modesto, and Oakdale Police Departments - San Joaquin County Sheriff - Merced County Sheriff - Tuolumne County Sheriff - Calaveras County Sheriff - Mariposa County Sheriff - Sacramento County Sheriff
Madison Society Foundation functions as more than a training provider. The organization actively fights Second Amendment cases through the court system. When they identify litigation challenging constitutional rights, their board files Amicus Briefs in support of defense. All membership dues and donations—which are tax-deductible—directly fund this legal offensive.
Federal Tax ID: 88-0488787
"Our total focus and commitment are to using the courts at all levels to preserve our rights as citizens."
The foundation maintains a non-partisan stance with one exception: they honor and support military members, law enforcement, retirees, and veterans. Several veteran members serve as resources to support fellow veterans and help reduce veteran suicides in their community.
Madison Society Foundation operates entirely on volunteer labor—no paid staff. Funding comes from: - Membership dues - Donations (tax-deductible) - Shooting events and competitions - Fundraising dinners - Special drawings
