Full description and what we offer
Tulsa Shooting Team develops young shooters through competitive action shooting. Their season runs October through July with Saturday morning practices at United States Shooting Academy. Competitors enter through SCSA (Steel Challenge Shooting Association) and SASP (Scholastic Action Shooting Program), competing locally and traveling to out-of-state matches.
Shooters cover their own competition fees, firearms, ammunition, and eye/ear protection. The team provides ammo for practice sessions.
Pistol (5.5" minimum barrel): - Browning Buck Mark - Smith & Wesson SW22 Victory - Ruger Mark IV
No compensators, ported barrels, muzzle brakes, or sighting systems (scopes, red dots, lasers) on handguns.
Rifle (semi-auto .22 LR, detachable magazine): - Ruger 10/22 (most common)
Competitors can shoot iron sights or red dot divisions. New shooters typically start with iron sights to build grip, stance, breathing, and trigger control before moving to optics.
Head Coach Darrell - NRA Certified Level 1 coach since 2014. Team has competed at Nationals nearly every year. Rifle team took 3rd place in 2021.
