The Vandenberg SFB Rod and Gun Club serves active duty, retired, reserve military, their dependents, DoD civilians, and base contractors. Located at Bldg 1521 on Taco Rd, it's the on-base facility for rifle, pistol, shotgun, archery, and organized competitive shooting.
The club maintains 7 dedicated ranges:

Trap and skeet rounds cost $5 for members and $7 for non-members—$0.20-$0.28 per shot.
Annual rates: - Military: $75 - DoD/Government Service: $100 - All Others: $115 - Day use (guest): $10
The gated entrance is access-controlled and only open during business hours (typically Thursday 9 AM-12 PM, then closed Mon-Wed, Fri-Sun). Members receive gate codes; guests must be sponsored and sign in.
Organized shooting events rotate throughout the month:
- •Trap & Skeet: Wed & Fri, 8:30 AM-3:30 PM ($5-$7)
- •Five Stand: 2nd Saturday, 9 AM ($7-$8)
- •Sporting Clays: 4th Sunday, 8 AM ($35-$54, youth $25)
- •Bowling Pin & 3-Gun Shoots: Rotating weekends
- •Gallery & Team Silhouette: Monthly
"Every weekend the club cycles through its various shooting events"
The pro shop stocks ammunition, reloading components, hunting accessories, and targets. Special orders available. The club also handles:
- •Firearm transfers: $30 single / $10 each additional
- •DROS processing (California approved firearms only)
- •Equipment rentals: 12-gauge shotguns, .22 rifles, and recurve bows by the hour
- •Meeting areas: Indoor kitchen or outdoor BBQ available for rent ($35 for 4 hours, $60 for 8 hours)
- •Game processing: Freezer and processing center for hunters

Restrictions
