Full description and what we offer
American Bowmen Club has spent 45+ years building what bowhunters actually want: a mountain range that teaches you to hunt, not just shoot targets in a field.
The difference shows in the details. Their 52-acre range sits in the mountains with realistic hunting conditions—elevation changes, natural terrain, the kind of shots that matter when you're actually hunting. They maintain separate practice ranges (field points only) and broadhead ranges so everyone stays safe.
Capacity is limited to 150 people maximum on the property at any time. Due to their exclusive lease with the Colorado State Land Board, memberships are capped. You won't be crowded here—that's the whole point.
1. Read the club rules and submit an online membership application 2. Receive approval (pending availability) 3. Attend a club activity and get voted in by members 4. Sign waiver and pay annual dues 5. Complete mandatory orientation
The club takes membership seriously. They're looking for people who want to be part of the organization, not just shoot the range. Members are expected to participate in work parties, club functions, and activities to maintain good standing.
No broadheads on practice range. Field points only on the practice range and 3D targets, unless ABC approves broadhead-specific occasions.
No crossbows. This is a traditional bowhunting club.
Sign in and out. Members raise a flag when entering, lower it when leaving—part of their Park County conditional use permit.
Dawn to dusk operation. Defined as one-half hour before sunrise to one-half hour after sunset.
No hunting on the property. This is a practice range exclusively.
Zero tolerance for disrespect. Members are bowhunters by nature—quiet, respectful. No loud music, no excessive speeds, keep dust down on County Road 64. Neighbors matter.
ABC hosts club member events, public events, work parties, and the annual course tear-down with barbecue. They partner with Bear Creek Archery in Englewood for club meetings. Public shoots and club-sponsored events are held throughout the year.
1015 County Road 64, Bailey, CO 80421
Parking is inside the locked gate south of CR64, next to the house. The range entrance is behind the locked gate north of CR64.
Important: Do NOT use Mooredale Road (by Bailey Lodge) to access the range. It's not a publicly dedicated right-of-way. Use alternate routes from US Highway 285.
If you want to practice bowhunting in realistic mountain conditions with people who take it seriously, American Bowmen Club is where Colorado bowhunters go. Fifty years of tradition. World-record members. Real hunting terrain. Limited membership so you're never crowded.
