High Mark provides hands-on firearms instruction through NRA-certified instructors and training counselors. Whether you're picking up a gun for the first time or refining tactical skills, they offer structured courses that build from foundational knowledge to advanced techniques.
- •New Shooter Orientation ($50, 1 hour) covers the absolute basics: safety, usage, function, storage, cleaning, and your legal responsibilities. No firearms or ammunition needed—this is purely classroom-based. Bring a notepad and your questions.
- •Home Firearm Safety ($75, 4 hours) teaches how to safely handle and store firearms and ammunition in your household. This course works for healthcare professionals, hospital staff, and first responders who need practical knowledge without shooting experience. Covers safe unloading, handling, and storage strategies.
- •Refuse to Be a Victim rounds out beginner options alongside the New Shooter Orientation and Home Firearm Safety courses.
- •Basic Pistol ($125, 8 hours) combines classroom instruction with range time. You'll learn nomenclature, function, operation, handling, storage, transportation, and cleaning. Students receive the NRA Basic Pistol book and Safe Gun Handling Rules. Bring at least 50 rounds of quality factory ammunition and layers—the indoor range is difficult to temperature-regulate. You can bring your own firearm (pending instructor inspection) or arrange a rental beforehand.
- •Concealed Carry Course ($175) runs over two days: 8am-5pm classroom on day one, 12pm-3pm range on day two. Classes scheduled February through April 2026. You'll need your concealed carry pistol, quality holster, ammunition, and eye/ear protection.
- •Defensive Pistol ($250, multi-day) is for shooters with prior personal protection training. Learn concealed carry options, concealment techniques, safe drawing, awareness, and advanced shooting skills. Requires 250+ rounds (300 recommended), quality 9mm-.45 caliber pistol, strong-side hip holster, and proper concealed carry clothing. No single-action-only revolvers. No SERPA holsters.
- •Personal Protection Outside the Home ($200) builds on home defense fundamentals. Level One (9 hours) covers essential skills for carrying and using a firearm safely outside the home—expect ~100 rounds fired on the range. Level Two (5 additional hours) focuses on advanced shooting techniques with ~115 more rounds. Pre-course evaluation required.
- •Ladies Only Shooting Clinic ($30, $35 with gun rental, 2 hours monthly) focuses on pistol, rifle, shotgun, and archery. One hour classroom, one hour on range. Instructors understand how women's bodies and learning styles differ from men's. All .22 caliber firearms and ammunition provided; bring your own if you prefer. Scheduled monthly: January 11, February 22, March 15, April 12 (2026). No prerequisites—complete novices welcome.
- •Family Clinic ($30, $35 with rental, 2 hours monthly) expanded from the popular Ladies Clinic to include men and family members. Same format: classroom fundamentals, then range practice. Covers pistol, rifle, shotgun, and archery topics.
- •Defensive Pistol Shooting Clinic ($40, monthly) teaches you to perfect your draw from concealment and get accurate, quick shots on target. Breaks down the draw stroke step-by-step, builds muscle memory safely, and runs variety drills. Requires concealed carry pistol, quality holster (no SERPA), concealed carry belt, 50+ rounds (100 suggested). No magnums or single-action revolvers.
- •Women on Target is another specialty option for female shooters.
High Mark offers pathway courses for those wanting to teach:
- Range Safety Officer training
- Chief Range Safety Officer certification
- Instructor Training for NRA-certified instructors
Women's bodies are different, how women learn and shoot is different. These instructors understand this and have experience assisting women in becoming successful shooters.
Their emphasis on ladies-only and family clinics reflects instructor expertise in how different demographics learn shooting skills. The curriculum spans beginner orientation through advanced tactical training. Monthly recurring clinics mean consistent practice opportunities rather than one-off events.
