Full description and what we offer
Highlands Ranch Community Association operates four archery ranges across the Backcountry Wilderness Area—from beginner-friendly sight-in ranges to challenging 3D courses that mimic real hunting terrain.
Backcountry Outdoor Center (6005 Ron King Trail, Littleton) is the main hub: - 3D Range: 30+ premium Reinhart targets (rabbits to moose) along a mile-long loop. Shot distances from 5–90 yards with varied angles through open grasslands, brush, and rolling hills. - Static/Sight-In Range: Multiple bag targets at 10-yard intervals (10–80 yards). Three bags per lane most of the year. Picnic tables and canopy tents at the firing line. - Lesson Range: Dedicated lanes for approved coaches running group and private lessons (separate from public shooting).
Wildcat Mountain Range (11950 Monarch Boulevard, Littleton) is a bring-your-own-target setup. Closed November 1–March 31 for wildlife protection.
Group lessons run June–August (four consecutive 2-hour sessions). Archery School of the Rockies instructors cover all levels. Equipment provided; you can bring your own after coach inspection. Private lessons available year-round through approved coaches—payment and scheduling handled directly with instructors.
