Location details and information

Berthoud Gun Club is a private, non-profit hunting and fishing club established in 1952, offering members exclusive access to quality shooting, hunting, and fishing experiences in Northern Colorado.

Berthoud Gun Club is a member-owned organization dedicated to promoting hunting, fishing, and shooting sports while conserving game and natural resources. With membership capped at 120 members, the club ensures an uncrowded, premium experience for all participants.

The club provides exceptional hunting across multiple game species:

  • Waterfowl Hunting: Nine duck and goose blinds plus one layout blind across three private lakes, with blind reservations required
  • Upland Bird Hunting: Pit blinds available on leased Northern Colorado property for stealth hunting
  • Dove Hunting: Available from September 1st through mid-September (before teal season begins)
  • Retrieval Support: Row boats provided for members to retrieve downed waterfowl

Members enjoy exclusive fishing on three private, annually stocked lakes featuring largemouth bass, walleye, crappie, catfish, and perch. The club also provides access to approximately ¾ mile of the St. Vrain River, which supports eleven different fish species. Boat ramps at each lake and club-provided row boats enhance the fishing experience.

While the Berthoud Gun Club itself is members-only, the affiliated Berthoud Trap Club offers public trap shooting without membership requirements, making it accessible to the broader shooting community.

Currently, the club is at full membership capacity and is not accepting new member applications or maintaining a wait list. Existing members must renew dues by April 15th annually.
