L.L.Bean's Discovery Archery Course teaches beginners the fundamentals of bow shooting at Riverfront Park in Glastonbury, Connecticut. The program runs seasonally (May through October) and welcomes participants as young as 8 years old—younger children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Each session lasts approximately 1.5 hours and includes:
- •Safety briefing and introduction to archery fundamentals
- •Instruction on proper bow grip and arrow release technique
- •Hands-on practice shooting at targets with recurve bows
- •Guidance from experienced, friendly instructors
- •Time to ask questions about the sport
All necessary equipment is provided, including recurve bows, arrows, quivers, and eye protection.

Classes take place at Riverfront Park, Glastonbury (300 Welles St, Glastonbury, CT 06033). Park at the Glastonbury Community Center and follow the gravel path to the right of the pickleball court to reach the archery range.
Cancellation Policy: 48 hours notice = full refund. Less than 48 hours = no refund. L.L.Bean reserves the right to cancel due to severe weather or low enrollment.

- •Closed-toed shoes suitable for outdoor activity
- •Water (no glass bottles)
