Wooster Mountain Shooting Range

Wooster Mountain Shooting Range is a 70-yard outdoor range in Danbury, operated by the Danbury Shooting Sports Association (D.S.S.A.). It is open to the public, staffed by certified volunteer range officers, and welcomes shooters from outside Connecticut.

The range is a multi-use facility offering open rifle and pistol shooting alongside A.T.A.-style Trap and 5-Stand shotgun shooting. Rifles, pistols, and shotguns are all permitted, with no caliber restrictions and suppressors allowed. Automatic and select-fire firearms, bump-fire stocks, tracer rounds, and exploding targets are prohibited. Shotguns may also be fired at the backstop on rifle/pistol days.

No firearm rentals are offered. There is no minimum age to shoot, though minors must be supervised by a parent or guardian. A valid photo ID is required, and no reservation is needed — the range runs first-come, first-served. D.S.S.A. also hosts training for civilian shooters and law enforcement agencies.
