Established in 1953 as a Delaware non-profit, New Castle Hundred Archers has been advancing archery for over seven decades. Since moving to their current 13-acre location in 1972, the club has built one of the most complete archery facilities in the Northeast.

The facility includes:

  • 18-lane indoor shooting range — Largest in Delaware and surrounding areas, targets from 10-30 yards
  • Outdoor practice range — 10 to 80-yard distances with covered shooting pavilion
  • 28-target field course — Full field archery layout in wooded setting, targets 10-80 yards
  • 3D archery area — Life-sized foam animal targets (30 animals outdoor, 15-19 indoor)
  • Three elevated tree stands — Walk-up stairs for bowhunter practice
  • Broadhead practice area — Dedicated zone for hunting-specific training
  • Clubhouse — Full kitchen, restrooms, storage

24/7 member access — 365 days a year. No gate codes or scheduling needed.

Target Archery Competitions — Standard tournament archery with field, hunter, and animal round formats. Scoring uses NFAA standards.

JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) — USA Archery sanctioned youth program. The team is called the Diamondbacks. 8-week sessions run 3-4 times yearly with certified Level III coaches: - Helen Kim (Level III) - Paul McCullough (Level III, CPR Certified) - Todd Porter (Level III) - Chris Wahl (Level I Instructor)

Adult Leagues — Winter indoor league (Thursday nights at 7PM, $10/week) and seasonal outdoor competitions.

3D Archery — Unmarked distance shooting at foam animal targets. January indoor league features 15-19 animals. March-August outdoor season runs 7-10 shoots with 30 animals. IBO scoring method with scoring rings: 11 points (vital center), 10 (heart), 8 (vitals), 5 (body).

Field Archery — 28 targets in two 14-target halves using field face (black/white), hunter face (white/black), or animal face targets. Distances vary by shooter class from youth (15-25 yards) to open (up to 52 yards).

All instructors are USA Archery certified, submit to background checks, and meet SafeSport requirements. They offer:

  • Public group lessons
  • Private instruction
  • Coaching for tournament preparation
  • Equipment selection guidance
  • Technique refinement

Host groups up to 36 people. Certified instructors teach archery basics, safety, and fundamentals. Clubhouse available for meetings.
