The Villages Straight Shooters runs year-round shooting activities at Shooters World and Ocala Sportsman's Association (OSA), with membership-based participation and affordable range fees.
Ladies Only Orientation covers understanding your gun, disassembly and assembly, cleaning, and shooting fundamentals including grip, stance, sight picture, and trigger control. Future sessions expand to advanced topics.
AR-15 Orientation prepares members for modern rifle shooting.
New Member Briefing introduces club operations and range procedures.
Florida law makes it a felony to allow a child access to a gun. The club emphasizes safe storage, especially for grandchildren visiting The Villages.

OSA offers exclusive private lanes for each shooter—no lane sharing required. Club staff available to assist all experience levels. Range time at $10 is a special member rate.
General meetings held 4th Monday of each month at Eisenhower, 6:30 PM (doors open 5:30 PM). Monthly raffles with gift prizes. Active membership participation in events correlates directly with skill improvement.
All members receive insurance coverage during club shooting activities. Membership ID name tags (showing expiration date) required at all events. Strict adherence to VSS Range Safety Rules and venue-specific rules mandatory. Medical Emergency Information forms available to members.
Monthly expert presentations cover topics including PTSD, firearm safety, handgun selection, defensive tactics, and historical firearms. Recent speakers include Dr. Michael Murrell, Don Fraser, Steve Mosel, and Sumter County Sheriff's Office.
Reservations open the 20th of the prior month. Members can self-cancel online for refunds if event is 7+ days away. Reloaded ammunition not authorized at OSA range.
