OGC accepts firearm transfers from licensed FFL dealers only—not from individuals. If you're buying from a private seller, have them ship through their local FFL to OGC.
Transfer Fees: - Standard: $40 per firearm - Active Duty Military/Law Enforcement: $25 per firearm (with valid credentials)
OGC stores firearms awaiting pickup at no cost for 90 days. After that, storage fees accrue at $32/month. The shop reserves the right to sell firearms after 2 years or when storage fees exceed retail value—though they may waive or discount fees at their discretion.
OGC handles transfers within Hawaii's strict regulatory framework. Here's what you need to know:
Handgun Permits: Require separate permits for each handgun. You must complete a Hawaii hunter education class or NRA-certified handgun safety course before applying. The Honolulu Police Department (801 S Beretania) issues permits with a 14-day minimum waiting period. First-time applicants pay $16.50 for fingerprinting.
Long Gun Permits: One permit covers multiple rifles or shotguns acquired within a year.
Registration: Handguns must be registered within 2 days of purchase; rifles within 5 days. Firearms brought into Hawaii from the mainland must be registered within 72 hours.
Restrictions: Hawaii law prohibits: - Pistol magazines over 10 rounds - NFA items (machine guns, suppressors, short-barreled rifles/shotguns) - Assault pistols (per Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 134)
Rifle magazines are not capacity-limited in Hawaii.
OGC accepts customer special orders by pre-arrangement. Can't find what you need on the website? Contact them directly and they'll work to source it.
OGC accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. In-store pricing reflects a 3% cash/debit discount. Credit card payments incur an additional 3% fee unless otherwise noted.
The website inventory is deliberately limited. Almost all major manufacturers are represented in-store, with bulk ammo as the main specialty. Stop by to browse current stock.
OGC has a partnership with High Roller Guns (highrollerguns.com) in Vegas for customers looking to ship firearms and ammo to Hawaii from the mainland.
When shipping a firearm to OGC for FFL transfer:
OGC will call the transferee when the package arrives. After inspection and state registration, firearms are ready for pickup once the customer provides the appropriate permit (pistol) or valid state long gun permit plus photo ID (rifle).
OGC does not carry, sell, or store powder or primers until a safe, secure, legal, and zoning-compliant arrangement can be made in the future.
