Location details and information

Since 2012, Maui Ammo and Gun Supply has been the island's go-to for firearms, ammunition, training, and now—the only indoor shooting range on Maui. What started with over 800 firearms transfers in their first year has grown into a full-service operation that treats gun ownership like what it is: a responsibility that requires knowledge, respect, and community.

Walk into their Wailuku Industrial Park location and you're not browsing a corporate chain. You're stepping into a family-run shop stocked with:

  • Rifles, shotguns, handguns across multiple brands
  • Ammunition for rifle, shotgun, and handgun
  • Reloading supplies for folks who reload their own
  • Gun safes and locks (because storage matters in Hawaii)
  • Eye and ear protection, apparel, and accessories

Every item is backed by staff with actual experience—military backgrounds, law enforcement backgrounds, and 35+ years of combined teaching experience.

They handle everything from basic cleaning to full disassembly, safety checks, oil, and reassembly. If your firearm needs work, you don't need to ship it off the island. Drop it off in Wailuku.

Whether you're picking up a gun for the first time or getting back into shooting after years away, their instructors walk you through:

  • Safety and handling fundamentals
  • Maintenance and cleaning
  • Licensing requirements and compliance
  • Hawaii's specific legal landscape

The staff knows Hawaii gun laws inside and out. They guide owners through handgun vs. long gun distinctions, registration, permits, and storage requirements.

Maui's premier indoor shooting range opened to give locals and visitors a safe, controlled environment. This isn't a backyard setup. This is structure.

DurationCost Per Lane

  • Four handguns

All firearms must arrive cased and unloaded.

  • Allowed: Factory-loaded ammo only (no reloads)

  • Inspection: Every round gets checked at the door

Eye and ear protection required. They sell equipment on-site; rentals aren't available due to COVID protocols.

Closed-toe shoes, closed-top shirts. No loose fabric. Hot brass doesn't play well with skin.

  • Food or drinks inside the range (lead + food = bad idea)
  • Pregnant shooters (noise, recoil, lead exposure—medical professionals advise against it)

Book ahead. Limited space and time slots mean walk-ins often wait. Check their calendar and reserve your lane.

Full Federal Firearms Licensed dealer. They handle:

  • Background checks
  • Firearms transfers
  • Private sale transfers with legal compliance
  • Guidance on Hawaii's unique import/registration rules
  • Relocation support for mainland shooters moving to Maui

"In our first year alone, we successfully transferred over 800 firearms. That milestone didn't just mark growth – it marked the beginning of relationships with so many of our customers."

The shop philosophy is simple: walking in shouldn't feel like a transaction. It should feel like dropping in on friends who share a similar passion. They've seen collectors, first-time owners, hunters, self-defense seekers, and curious learners come through the doors. The idea is that whether you're handling firearms professionally or recreationally, you need a community around safety, respect, and knowledge.
