Full description and what we offer
Snake River Western Shooting Society is a SASS-affiliated cowboy action shooting club located at 6425 US-93, north of Jerome, Idaho. The club serves the Magic Valley area and draws shooters from across southern Idaho for regular matches and annual competitions.
The club runs monthly matches on the 1st and 4th Saturdays, giving members consistent opportunities to shoot. SASS (Single Action Shooting Society) affiliation means matches follow standardized cowboy action rules with period-correct firearms and Old West costuming.
This is the home range for the End of Road annual match and the Idaho State Black Powder Championship, drawing competitors from across the region.
The club hosts several significant events throughout the year:
The club maintains detailed score archives on their website going back several years, tracking both overall standings and category results.
Cowboy action shooting requires period-appropriate firearms - typically single-action revolvers, lever-action rifles, and side-by-side or pump shotguns. Shooters also dress in Old West attire as part of the sport. If you're new to cowboy action, reach out to the club before your first match to understand equipment requirements.
The range sits on Highway 93 between Jerome and Twin Falls, making it accessible from both towns. For match schedules, stage information, and registration, check their website at casidaho.net. Contact Missy Mable at 208-731-6387 with questions about matches or membership.
The club sets a goal of less than one target failure per day of shooting, indicating attention to range maintenance and match quality.
All club matches get posted to their website with stage descriptions and results. Applications for major events like End of Road and Idaho State Black Powder open in advance on the site.
