The Pistol Prof

The Pistol Prof operates in Coeur d'Alene serving the CDA and Spokane areas with concealed carry classes and pistol training that guarantees marksmanship, safety, and confidence. The training uses laser cartridge systems that eliminate noise and recoil while costing only $10 per 1,000 shots.

This foundational course includes carry permit training certification and welcomes students 13 and older with no experience required. Students receive signed NRA Instructor's Gun Safety Class Certificates that also satisfy Washington State Initiative 1639 requirements.

The curriculum covers essential handgun terminology and concepts: - Revolver vs. Semi-Auto operation - Single Action, Double Action, and Striker-Fired systems - Magazine types: Single Stack vs. Double Stack - Caliber and millimeter measurements - Trigger reset and proper grip biomechanics

The second course focuses on proficiency and practice, covering holster selection, magazine handling, advanced firing positions, and survival tactics. The training philosophy emphasizes "Slow is smooth; smooth is fast" to develop real-world encounter proficiency.

Students learn sight alignment, sight picture coordination, proper stance, breathing techniques, and trigger press fundamentals through hands-on participation with personal coaching. The laser system allows extensive practice with Glock 9mm pistols without the cost and noise of traditional range training.

The Pistol Prof also offers comprehensive preparedness training drawing from over 100 years of combined experience. Training covers:

Two-way radio instruction focuses on BaoFeng UV-5R radios ($20 on Amazon) with Nagoya 771 antennas. Training covers FRS, GMRS, MURS, and HAM bands for emergency preparedness.

The operation includes custom hatching of heritage "Hoodoo Survivor" chicks ($8 each, unsexed) specifically bred to avoid commercial hatchery vaccination issues that cause sterility in offspring. Custom incubation ensures higher hatch rates for sustainable backyard flocks.
