Hook and Bullet Conservation Club sits on approximately 700 acres of reclaimed strip mine land in rural Knox County near Victoria, Illinois. It's a private membership club—not open to the public—focused on hunting, fishing, shooting sports, and conservation education.
Hunting Opportunities: - Deer archery hunting (members only—no guests allowed) - Turkey hunting (members only) - Waterfowl hunting with seasonal restrictions - Portable tree stand hunting (strap-on or ladder stands only; screw-in steps prohibited) - Maximum of 5 stands/blinds per membership - One buck per deer archery season limit
Fishing & Water Access: - Pole-and-line fishing only (governed by Illinois state regulations) - Two poles maximum per person - Kids' fishing pond (no one over 16 without a child under 16) - Current fish limits posted at front and back gates - Mallard Beach swimming area (state regulations apply)
Shooting & Archery: - Shooting range with tire backstops (targets must stay below backstop height; no glass targets) - Range hours October 1–January 31: 11 a.m.–2 p.m. only when no hunting in area - Archery range - Speed limit 15 mph on club roads during range use
Camping & Recreation: - Multiple campsites (no camping within 300 ft of swimming area or 20 ft of shelters/docks) - Camping limit: 2 weeks per month or 3 weekends per month (17-day maximum) with 4-day intervals between stays - Must store camper in designated area if not actively camping - All campers must display current license sticker and member name or key number - Designated storage area for seasonal campers
For Current Members: - 2025 annual dues: $250 (or $115 with 10 hours of work credit) - Dues due November 1 each year - Members in good standing can bring immediate family (same primary residence) or guests - Guests limited to 3 visits per year total, including club events - Members must accompany guests at all times - Critical: Loaning a key to a non-member results in immediate expulsion and $400 fine

Zero-tolerance policies in place: - $100 fine for littering - $100 fine for range cleanup violations - Campers get one warning for rule violations; second violation loses camping privileges for 1 year - Vehicles must stay on main roads (15 mph speed limit except during work) - ATVs restricted from food plots during archery season (October 1–January 14)
Membership meetings held three times yearly (spring, summer, fall). Board meetings monthly. Elections held each year before fiscal year begins (November 1). All officers and positions require current dues paid in full.
