Full description and what we offer
Waterloo Sportsman's Club is a private membership, non-profit recreational organization located on over 200 acres between Waterloo and Red Bud, Illinois. This family-oriented facility offers far more than just shooting sports—it's a comprehensive outdoor recreation destination.
The club features a shot shell shooting range and an archery range, making it ideal for shotgun sports and precision archery practice. All events are open to the public, though membership is required for regular facility access.
Four stocked fishing lakes are available to members, including a dedicated kids-only lake (2.5 acres) for anglers 15 years old and younger. The largest lake (#2) spans 18 acres and is located behind the main pavilion. Boat rentals are available for just $5 per day, with life jackets and oars provided. Members can bring two guest fishermen for $5 per guest.
Waterloo Sportsman's Club operates three campgrounds with 55+ RV sites featuring water and electric hookups, two dump stations, and two full shower houses. RV camping costs $10 per night for members. Two primitive campground areas accommodate tent campers for $5 per night and host local Boy Scout troops.
The expansive grounds include seven spacious pavilions (two climate-controlled), four playgrounds, a baseball diamond, and a basketball court—perfect for family gatherings and community events.
The club accepts new membership applications at orientation meetings held before general meetings on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 PM. The membership year runs March 1 through February 28. Throughout the year, WSC hosts community events including Trivia Night, Lenten Fish Fry, Ham Shoot and Meat Raffle, Turkey Shoot, and a Haunted Trail.
