Location details and information
The Site Firearms Training Center operates on 129 pristine acres in Mount Carroll, Illinois with infrastructure most ranges can only dream about: 9 separate shooting ranges, two configurable shoot houses (one live-fire, one for Simunitions training), a jungle walk for tactical rifle courses, and reactive steel targets throughout.
Whether you're a first-time shooter concerned about home defense, a recreational hunter, or a law enforcement officer preparing for duty, The Site matches instructors to your experience level. No ego. Just people who know what they're teaching.
Former Navy SEALs, active and retired law enforcement officers, and renowned civilian instructors make up the teaching roster. They're selected on operational expertise, knowledge base, communication skills, and teaching effectiveness—not because they have the biggest personality in the room.
Director of Training Jim Kauber leads the group. Students specifically mention his patience, clear instruction, and ability to adapt courses to individual shooter goals.

The Site teaches through four core principles:
Accuracy and Precision — Solid fundamental techniques. On target, every time.
Speed — Speed is a byproduct of being smooth. Smoothness comes from going slow and practicing correctly.
Safety — The four principles of gun safety drive everything. Non-negotiable.
Client Experience — Lessons learned at The Site are enduring. On the range and in the lodge, you'll actually want to be there.
The Site also hosts corporate events, product releases, media announcements, and company retreats. The 129-acre facility with multiple ranges and lodge accommodations works for groups needing a training or event venue.
The Site partners with Shredding Hunger to support law enforcement training and community safety initiatives.
Co-founders Jeff Blomsness and Brent Myers built The Site with a focus on innovation and training quality. The organization includes staff dedicated to partnerships, marketing, community engagement, and technical operations.
