Full description and what we offer
Havlin's Firearms Finishing was founded in 2011 as a locally owned and operated full-service gunsmith shop. Brett Havlin is the owner, gunsmith, and day-to-day operator—which means when you drop off a firearm, you're working with the person doing the actual work.
"Most days are spent working on firearms. It's often difficult to answer the phone and work on someone's firearm. Please understand if it was your firearm, you'd want the same attention."
This is important: Havlin's is NOT a retail store. There are no firearms for sale, no ammunition, no reloading supplies, and no general accessories sitting on shelves. What they do offer is a special order service if you need specific parts or upgrades sourced.

Labor Rates: - Manual labor: $50/hour (minimum $25 half-hour charge) - Machine work: $100/hour (minimum $50 half-hour charge)
Estimates are free. You can request a written estimate before work begins—and Havlin's won't exceed that estimate without your authorization.
Two subscription options for shooters who want regular maintenance:
The shop handles cerakote projects, general repairs, before-and-after restorations, and machine work including slide milling and barrel threading. Browse their portfolio online to see examples.
Book appointments online through their scheduling system. If you work weekdays and need evening or weekend slots, email to arrange special timing. Havlin's asks for cancellations with at least 8 hours notice—two cancellations with less notice triggers a $25 cancellation fee.
90-day guarantee on labor from completion date. If the same issue appears within 90 days, additional labor on that specific problem is free. Aftermarket parts and modifications don't fall under guarantee. The guarantee doesn't cover neglect, misuse, abuse, or safety modifications like trigger jobs.
Just north of Brownsburg, Indiana. Call ahead or use the online scheduling—don't expect to walk in and find Brett available. He's focused on the firearm in front of him.
Phone calls often go unanswered because Brett is actively working on firearms. Email is often faster. The shop confirms appointments 1-2 days before your scheduled time.
