Full description and what we offer
The Barn Archery Pro Shop opened in Spencer in late August 2008, then expanded to their Martinsville location in late November 2015. The owners and staff are avid bowhunters and competitive target archers who built this shop to actually solve problems archers face.
A pro shop does two things: you talk to knowledgeable people and you buy quality equipment that gets repaired. That's exactly what you get here. They carry award-winning bows and accessories, and they have a full-time bow mechanic on board.
Equipment fit matters. Modern bows are faster and more accurate than ever, but only if they fit you properly. Here's how they work:
1. Ask what you want - What type of equipment, what you're trying to accomplish, and your budget 2. Measure your draw length - Critical for finding a bow that actually suits you 3. Match your poundage - Get you pulling the weight that works for your build 4. Select proper arrows - Make sure your arrows let the bow reach its full potential
They're happy to discuss the benefits and drawbacks of equipment—newer items and older setups. But they know not everyone's ready to buy new accessories, and that's fine.

Customers regularly drive 1.5+ hours because they trust the setup and service. People name-drop staff members in reviews—that's the kind of shop this is.
Reviews mention staff like Brandy (bow technician) and Sam by name. Customers praise them for fixing bows that other shops set up wrong. One person brought in a Hoyt bow that another Indianapolis dealer had fitted incorrectly, and The Barn caught the problem, fixed it, and got them shooting groups.
Another customer brought in a crossbow that needed repair and left with all questions answered, reasonable pricing, and killed a deer an hour later with arrows they cut in-shop.
They work with special needs—left-eye dominance, growing kids who need adjustments as they age, beginners with no experience. They don't rush you out the door.
