Full description and what we offer
Jacobson's Gun Center started in 1979 when Paul Jacobson opened the shop in Story City, IA. What began as a single gunsmith operation has grown into a full firearms destination with over 1,000 rifles and pistols in inventory at any time.
"We have the things you need and the stuff you want." - Jacobson's Gun Center
This is a family and veteran-owned business with FFL and SOT licensing. Paul Jacobson handles most gunsmith work personally, and that matters—even small mistakes in gunsmithing can be critical. Because they do the work in-house instead of shipping guns to third parties, you get faster turnaround and direct communication with the person doing the work.
Jacobson's handles virtually any firearm repair, including:
- •Re-barreling - Requires a long-bed lathe that most Central Iowa gun shops don't have
- •Muzzle brake installation - Custom work with precision fitting
- •Metal and wood refinishing - Professional-grade work using proper chemical processes
- •Black powder and muzzleloading gun repairs - Specialized expertise
- •Gun modifications and design work - Custom builds to specification
- •General repair - Any firearm type, any issue
Call with your specific gunsmithing needs and they'll contact you within 24 hours with an estimate.
They stock new and used firearms from industry leaders:
