Red Flag Armory started in May 2020 with four founders—Matthew A. Vincent, Steven C. Volkmer, Tyler J. Heath, and Ryan W. Atwood—all coming from different backgrounds but united by one thing: actually caring about firearms. Red Flag Armory doesn't stock every AK on the market. They actively refuse to carry VSAK, RAS47, C39, C39V2, I.O INC, DDI, Hesse, Palmetto State Armory Gen 1 and Gen 2, Phoenix Arms, and Riley Defense models. Their reasoning: these platforms are known for poor quality and reliability. Rather than sell lemons to people new to the AK platform, they educate and point shooters toward actually dependable AKs.

This isn't anti-profit posturing—it's the opposite. They'd rather lose a sale than leave a customer with a gun that will fail them.

1. Find and purchase the firearm from an online dealer 2. Have the seller ship to Red Flag Armory's FFL 3. Call when it arrives to schedule pickup 4. Complete Form 4473 and NICS background check (unless you hold an Iowa Carry License) 5. Pay a small transfer fee and you're out the door—typically in 20 minutes
