Full description and what we offer
Scorpyd Crossbows manufactures high-performance crossbows using patented reverse draw technology that eliminates traditional brace height, maximizing power stroke and arrow velocity. Located in Tiffin, Iowa, the company produces three main crossbow lines: the Aculeus, Tremor XP, and Deathstalker.
Aculeus Crossbow The flagship model and world's second fastest crossbow at 480 FPS with a 370-grain arrow. Features an 18.5-inch power stroke, 7.5-pound mass weight, and available in draw weights of 110#, 135#, 160#, and 180#. The fixed non-folding stock is nearly half a pound lighter than folding designs. Includes optional ACUdraw Pro cocking mechanism, Hogue 1911-style grips, and patented anti-dryfire device.
Tremor XP Crossbow New for 2023, the Tremor XP reaches 460 FPS with a 400-grain arrow. At 17 3/8" limb tip to limb tip and under 200# draw weight, it's New York legal—making it the world's fastest crossbow compliant with state hunting regulations. Weighs 7.9 pounds without accessories. Available in base kit, standard package, or ACUdraw package configurations.
Deathstalker Crossbow The lightweight, compact option at 6 pounds without accessories and 415 FPS velocity. Features a one-piece carbon composite frame, 16.25" axle-to-axle uncocked, and 1911-style Hogue grips. Starts at $1,132.95. Available in 110#, 115#, and 130# draw weights. The fixed stock design eliminates unnecessary weight without sacrificing durability.
All Scorpyd crossbows feature: - Reverse Draw Technology (patented) – riser and limb arrangement reversed with string at leading edge - Sear-LOC Trigger System (patented) – less than 2-pound trigger pull - Adjustable Trigger (patented) – customizable for shooter preference - Silent Safety (patented) – smooth operation without noise - Inverted Cam Technology (patented) - Anti-Dryfire Device (patented) – prevents damage from firing unloaded
| Model | Max Speed | Draw Weights | Mass Weight | Notable Feature |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Aculeus | 480 FPS | 110-180# | 7.5 lbs | World's fastest |
| Tremor XP | 460 FPS | 130-200# | 7.9 lbs | NY legal |
| Deathstalker | 415 FPS | 110-130# | 6 lbs | Lightest option |
Speed is in the stroke. Shorter brace height equals longer power stroke, which equals faster arrow speed and flatter trajectory.
Scorpyd manufactures proprietary arrows meeting strict tolerances: - .001 Straightness tolerance - ±1 Grain Weight tolerance - 20-inch Length standard
Factory-tested speeds vary based on arrow specifications, chronographs, and environmental conditions. Results may differ from advertised specs.
Scorpyd recommends considering: 1. Primary use – target shooting, hunting, or both 2. Physical ability – draw weight options prevent overexertion 3. Hunting style – compact models for thick cover, faster models for long-range open country 4. Speed requirements – higher-speed bows demand quality arrows and broadheads
The company emphasizes that lighter draw weight options (80-110#) still deliver sufficient energy for elk and deer while being easier to cock and quieter than many compound bows.
