Red Cedar Chapter has been part of the Vinton community since 1952, operating as a chapter of the Izaak Walton League—an organization founded in 1922 to protect outdoor America. The chapter's mission goes beyond shooting: they manage natural resources, run youth programs for Boy Scouts, maintain trails, and protect wildlife habitats including the Day Bird Sanctuary, Eels Prairie, and the Tobin Trees of Iowa.
The club maintains multiple shooting facilities on its grounds:
