Full description and what we offer
Bowie Outfitters has been operating since 2002, with flagship stores in Baton Rouge (since 2003) and Lake Charles. Both locations handle hunting, fishing, firearms, and archery—so if you're geared up for outdoor pursuits, there's a good chance they stock it or can order it.
8630 Perkins Road | (225) 766-1200
Archery: 10-lane, 20-yard indoor range. Bow setup runs $100 (free with new bow purchase), basic inspection $40, paper tune $25. Range fees are $10/hr or $200/year.
Store Manager Ruffin Moreland has run the show for 14 years with deep experience across all departments. Lea Benoit handles business development with 18 years in the company. Brandon Basco leads archery tech with 32 years shooting and 17+ years specializing in bow work—he's PSE Pro Staff.
3405 Gerstner Memorial Blvd. | (337) 240-5387
Archery: 6-lane, 30-yard indoor range. Same pricing structure as Baton Rouge—$100 bow setups (free with purchase), $40 basic inspections, $25 paper tunes, $10/hr or $200/yr range access.
Fishing: Live worms and frozen shrimp in stock.
Their closeout and overstock section moves regularly—they stock listings on GunBroker, Amazon, and eBay in addition to in-store inventory. Staff recommendation: call before you hunt specific items, but check back weekly since inventory updates happen constantly.
Both locations offer the same core services, but Lake Charles has the larger retail footprint and a bigger archery range (30-yard vs. 20-yard). Baton Rouge has been the flagship longer and carries deeper local knowledge.
