Full description and what we offer
Gerry Brewer came to gunsmithing the long way. He spent years as a lite industrial equipment mechanic, then pivoted to woodworking (running a bandsaw box business called "Waves In Wood"), then trained at a power tool repair facility. That background matters—he learned to diagnose electrical and pneumatic systems, techniques that directly transferred into firearms work.
"I am not afraid to take something apart to not only see why it is broken but to understand how it works in the first place."
After formal gunsmithing training and navigating the FFL licensing process, he opened Brew'd Arms to fix what was broken in his community: a lack of honest, affordable gunsmithing.
$25 per Form 4473 — not per firearm. You can transfer up to 10 separate serials on a single 4473, so buying multiple firearms or receivers? One fee covers it all.
Brewdarms is on file with Brownells, Buds Gun Shop, PSA, Cheaper Than Dirt, Gunbroker, and dozens of other retailers. Don't see yours listed? Contact Gerry directly—he'll work with any seller.
What to bring for a transfer: - $25 cash or credit card (Visa/Mastercard accepted) - Valid government photo ID (driver's license, state ID, or concealed carry permit)
In Louisiana, a concealed carry permit issued after March 9, 2015 can substitute for a background check (Form 4473 still required).
