Full description and what we offer

Maine School of Archery operates differently from typical archery ranges. Instead of being tied to a single location, their instructors and coaches travel to schools, camps, and organizations throughout Maine. This approach lets them reach hundreds of archers annually and customize programs to fit each group's needs.

They run consistent 4-week and 8-week sessions across three types of programs:

  • Introduction Programs (4 weeks each)
  • Youth Introduction to Archery (ages 10-17)
  • Adult Introduction to Archery
  • Family Fun Archery (all ages together)

Sessions run September-October, January-February, March-May, and other windows throughout the year.

  • Competition-Focused Programs (8 weeks each)
  • Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) for youth ages 10-17
  • Adult Archery Program (AAP) for adults seeking technique improvement and competition

"If you are looking to get started in the sport of archery or want to refine your bowhunting skills, Winn is one of the best instructors you'll find." — Pete Gerard, Portland Parks and Recreation

  • Group Lessons — Ongoing instruction at your location using your equipment or theirs
  • Private Lessons — One-on-one coaching for form refinement and custom training plans
  • Custom Programs — Team-building activities designed for corporate groups, families, and school outings with lightweight training bows
  • Equipment Guidance — On-site assessment and recommendations for range setup and gear selection
  • Instructor CertificationUSA Archery Level 1 and Level 2 courses for those training to teach

Their instructors use positive reinforcement to help archers focus on process rather than results. The goal is building confidence and self-esteem through consistent practice. All instructors and coaches are USA Archery certified.
