KB Firearms and Safety Training is veteran-owned and operated by an instructor who spent over two decades in military and federal law enforcement roles. His background includes international policing assignments in four countries, military combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, dignitary protection for senior executives, and service as a SWAT commander and hostage negotiator in the southwest US.

Before becoming an instructor, he served as range operations officer at the Joint Law Enforcement Training Center, overseeing the training of 55,000 firearms students annually and coordinating 10.5 million rounds downrange—from M-9 handguns to 81mm mortars.

Classes with classroom components are typically held in Laurel, Maryland, though custom courses can be taught anywhere for prepaid groups of eight or more participants.

AGC Range (Associated Gun Clubs of Baltimore) - 50-yard pistol range - 100-yard rifle range - 200-yard high power range - Action shooting bays - Trap range - Archery range

Ft. Meade Range (Meade Rifle and Pistol Club) - Operated for 50+ years - ~350 members from the Fort Meade area - Ranges on 1,007 acres southeast of Fort Meade - Owned by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service - Youth division and marksmanship programs available

Defensive Pistol I (8 hours, range only) — $235 Prerequisite: Basic Pistol. Covers holster presentation, stoppage remediation, tactical reloads, accuracy and speed drills in defensive scenarios.

Defensive Carbine I (8 hours, range only) — $235 Prerequisite: Basic Rifle. Defensive carbine setup, holster work, stoppage drills, and tactical reloads.

Maryland Wear and Carry / Multi-State Concealed Carry (16 hours) — $350 Satisfies Maryland Wear and Carry training requirements plus Delaware, Virginia, and Pennsylvania concealed carry laws. Covers firearm laws, defensive shooting basics, and surviving defensive encounters. NRA certificate included.

Personal Protection Inside the Home (8 hours) — $210 Prerequisite: Basic Pistol. Legal aspects of home self-defense, threat and vulnerability assessment, home defense planning.

Advanced Firearms — Complex and dynamic environments including obstacles, threat acquisition, and decision-making during defensive encounters.

Active Shooter Defense for Individuals — $125 Designed for civilians facing active attacker events. Covers preparation, threat identification, and survival response. Acknowledges that active events conclude in under 10 minutes while law enforcement response averages 4+ minutes.

Security Posture in Everyday Life — $125 Addresses carjackings, jugging, ATM theft, and stalking. Provides counter-tactics for everyday dangerous situations.

Based on military and law enforcement counter-surveillance and vulnerability assessments from domestic and international operations. Goes beyond typical block-and-strike training to teach threat detection and proactive response before encounters become compromised reactions.

Comprehensive program addressing firearms, edged weapons, and vehicle attacks. Includes customized needs analysis and assessment to create solutions for preventing, responding to, and recovering from active aggressor events.

For those who want to teach. Covers methodology of instruction for pistol, rifle, shotgun, and concealed carry courses. Enhances instructor skills in course content delivery and custom curriculum development.
