Outdoor Rifle League Bringyour .22 pump, lever, bolt, semi-auto, Ruger 10/22 Space Gun and / or yourcenter fire carbine (M1 Carbines are allowed) and try it out. Chapter membership is not required. Matches will be held on thesecond Wednesday of each month, April through October, at the pistol range.Check the chapter newsletter for specifics. The first relay start time is 4:00P. M. and they run about every half hour. Arriving earlier is better,especially if it's your first time or if you want to shoot multiple times. Introductory category: · The course of fire is 20 rounds in 10 minutes ontwo NRA B2 targets at 25 yards using a chapter-supplied Savage bolt-action 22caliber rifle with aperture (peep) sights. We shoot 10 shots on the left targetand then 10 shots on the right target. The higher scoring target of the two iskept for record (maximum score of 100). · All equipment is supplied by the chapter (rifle,ammunition, eye and ear protection). · There are no fees for this category. · First come, first served. You may shoot againand keep the best score, if other shooters are not waiting. · If requested, free coaching is available at thematches. · To compete in this category a shooter must nothave received an award in any rifle league category. Regular categories: · The course of fire is the NRA National Gallerycourse which is 10 rounds slow fire (10 rounds in 10 minutes) on a NRA B2target, 10 rounds timed fire (5 rounds in 20 seconds, two times) and 10 roundsrapid fire (5 rounds in 10 seconds, two times) on NRA B3 targets. We do thisonce for a total of 30 rounds (a maximum score of 300). For bolt action riflesthat hold at least five rounds, the timed-fire time is increased from 20seconds to 30 seconds and the rapid-fire time is increased from 10 seconds to 20seconds. Other rifles, which hold less than five rounds, will be given extratime, as determined by match experience. · You may shoot any combination of the followingcategories multiple times per match. A person may shoot one additional timewithin the same category in a match and the best score will be kept for thatcategory. If this best score is not to your satisfaction, it must be kept, evenif caused by equipment malfunction. - Rim fire; "iron" sights at 25 yards. - Rim fire; any type of sight at 50 yards. - Center fire; "iron" sights at 25 yards. - Center fire; any type of sight at 50 yards. · Center fire is limited to what is considered apistol cartridge. For example, 38 Special, .357 magnum, 9 mm, 41 Special, 44magnum, 45 ACP, 45 Colt, 30 caliber M1 Carbine, etc. · Eye and ear protection is required. Cost is$2.00 per category for targets and awards. You must shoot in a minimum of threematches in a category to qualify for an end-of-season award. Averages will bekept to three decimal places. Match results will be published. All categories: · The rifle must be held off-hand (no externalsupport). NRA Pistol Rules apply when not superseded by this document, i.e., nowrist or elbow support, no gloves, no special jackets, etc. Slings are allowed.
