Full description and what we offer
The Izaak Walton League-Rockville Chapter has been serving Maryland hunters and outdoors enthusiasts since 1956. Located in Germantown on 18301 Waring Station Road, this member-supported club offers shooting facilities, archery ranges, fishing access, and extensive education programs.
The Chapter has trained over 2,400 Maryland residents in hunter education since 1956. Maryland-certified instructors teach classes covering hunter responsibility, firearms safety, marksmanship, bow and muzzleloader hunting, wildlife management, and state legal requirements. First-time hunters in Maryland must complete this course before getting a license.
Beyond hunter safety, IWLA-R runs youth conservation education for kids 5-12, water quality training through Save Our Streams, drone programs, range safety officer training, Stop the Bleed instruction, and scholarships for students pursuing conservation studies.
