FreeState Gun Range operates two locations in Middle River, Maryland—the main range and retail shop at Crossroads Circle, and a dedicated training facility on Innovation Street. Between them, they've built out a complete shooting and instruction operation serving the Baltimore area.
The range itself features 12 state-of-the-art electronic shooting lanes with walk-in access. No appointment needed—just show up. They take last shooters one hour before closing time.
Training runs the full spectrum: - Introductory classes (AR-15 Basics, Introduction to Shotguns) - Concealed carry courses (Practical Concealed Carry, Maryland Wear and Carry Permit) - Defensive scenarios (Carjacking Survival, Home Invasion Survival, Dynamic Pistol, Dynamic Carbine) - Specialized instruction (Low-Light Pistol or Carbine, Situational Awareness and Response Training) - Out-of-state permits (Utah/Florida CWP, Washington D.C. CCW Permit) - NFA Class III training - Private training available - Machine gun rental experiences - HQL (Handgun Qualification License) courses
They also offer LiveScan fingerprinting services Monday–Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (or by private appointment) for occupational licensing, concealed carry permits, and federal requirements.

They accept U.S. LawShield concealed carry insurance memberships.
FreeState allows a wide range of calibers, but steel jacketed and core ammo is not approved. Approved calibers include:
- •Pistol: .22 LR, .25 ACP/.25 Rem, .380 ACP, 10mm, .38 Special, .357 magnum, .40 S&W, .44 magnum, .45 ACP/.45 GAP, .500 S&W, .50 AE
- •Rifle: .223, 5.56, .300 BLK, 7.62x39, 30 M1 Carbine, 30-30 Win, 300 Savage, .308 Win, 30-40 Krag (rifle calibers Thursday only)
- •Shotgun: 12, 20, and .410 gauge (slugs and 00 buckshot only)
They staff the range to check ammunition before you head downrange.
- •Concealed carry is permitted if you hold one of these:
- •Active/Retired Law Enforcement Officer status
- •LEOSA permit
- •Maryland Wear & Carry Handgun Permit
- •Open carry is not permitted unless you're an active uniformed officer.
Firearms must remain holstered at all times on the retail floor. You can draw from the holster on the range—but only if you're FreeState Holster Certified. Zero tolerance for policy violations.
- •Monday–Thursday: 11 a.m.–8 p.m.
- •Friday: 11 a.m.–9 p.m.
- •Saturday: 10 a.m.–10 p.m.
- •Sunday: 11 a.m.–7 p.m.
Thursday is ".308 Thursday"—all day rifle caliber shooting.

Getting there from I-95: Exit 67 (White Marsh/Route 43 East), take Route 43 East about 3 miles. Look for Royal Farms, then turn right at Arbors Luxury Apartments onto Crossroads Circle. Go 1/4 mile past the elevated garage to the last building.
