Full description and what we offer
Kestrel Archery teaches barebow, traditional, Olympic recurve, and compound archery. Each style has its own feel: barebow and traditional rely on technique and reference points with minimal tech. Olympic recurve uses sights and stabilizers for Olympic-level accuracy. Compound is the most modern option, where technology reduces draw weight for precision shooting.
The team runs structured classes starting with Intro to Archery (ages 8+, all equipment provided). Once you've got the basics, Recreational Archery focuses on individual growth in a low-pressure setting. Serious competitors move into Tournament Archery for form refinement and mental preparation. There's also Strength and Conditioning with Kathleen Kennedy—an archery-specific workout targeting arms, core, back, and even fingertips.
All group classes run 1 hour 30 minutes and are free with a class pass or ultimate membership.
Katie Killgrove (USA Archery Instructor Level 2, Judge Level 1) hands out stickers and tough love. Kathleen Kennedy brings ten years of tournament experience and leads the "Last End, Best End" tradition at Massachusetts events. Jack Blakely keeps the range running—music, lights, and tournament clock all working.
Members can join the USA Archery Adult or JOAD Club and work toward Achievement Pins. Once you're consistently shooting indoor averages over 100 points with your own equipment, you're ready for tournaments. Team jerseys in three styles (Regular Indoor black/purple, Monochrome black/silver, or Regular Outdoor violet/purple) run around $58 with taxes.
Whether buying your first bow or your 12th, the staff guides you through the selection. Equipment is provided in classes, but if you want your own gear, they handle special orders and let you try before you buy.
