SSD Tactical Training

SSD Tactical Training delivers the Massachusetts License to Carry course with live-fire instruction—a requirement that many municipal police departments (including Springfield, Chicopee, and Ludlow) specifically demand for permit approval. This isn't classroom-only; you shoot on their range as part of the certification.

The all-day course (9am–3pm) covers the knowledge and skills you actually need:

• •Safe handling of multiple firearm types
• •Firearm storage and child-proofing laws
• •Massachusetts and Connecticut general firearms law
• •Self-defense law and transportation regulations
• •Ammunition types and their legal implications
• •Identifying, unloading, and cleaning firearms

You'll leave with the knowledge, skills, and confidence for owning a firearm safely. The course exceeds requirements for Massachusetts Firearms Identification Card (FID), License to Carry, and qualifies for permits in Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Florida, and other states requiring live-fire certification.

You must provide your own transportation to and from the range. No firearms or ammunition should be brought to the classroom.

• •Important: Classes are in-person only. Safety is non-negotiable—anyone impaired by alcohol, drugs, or marijuana cannot participate. Rescheduling within 24 hours costs $50; no reschedules within 12 hours. Read their full rescheduling policy before booking—no refunds issued.
