New England Firearms Academy

New England Firearms Academy, founded in 2013, handles three things: getting you certified for Massachusetts firearms licensing, getting you a Utah CCW permit that works nationwide, and teaching you to shoot defensively with live fire.

This is the mandatory 4-hour course for getting your Massachusetts Firearms Permit or FID card. You'll cover:

• •Basic safety rules and procedures
• •Safe loading and unloading of handguns, rifles, and shotguns
• •Ammunition handling and knowledge
• •Cleaning and storage requirements
• •Massachusetts firearms law

Cost: $150 | Duration: 4 hours

You get a completion certificate and $20 off your next firearm at Four Seasons Firearms. Then you take that certificate to your local police department with your application.

The Utah CCW works in over 32 states if you travel or relocate. This 4-hour course covers:

• •Basic firearms safety and procedures
• •Safe loading/unloading of various firearms
• •Ammunition and safe storage/transportation
• •Utah and federal firearms law

You leave class with your certificate, fingerprints, completed application, application checklist, and reference guide—everything you need to submit your Utah application. Cost: $150 | Duration: 4 hours

For students who've completed basic certification and want to develop actual shooting skills. You learn:

• •Proper grip, stance, and sight alignment
• •Trigger control and sight picture
• •Sighted vs. unsighted (point) shooting
• •Drawing from holster
• •Multiple target engagement
• •Equipment evaluation

Bring 200 rounds of target ammo, eye/ear protection, your firearm, at least 3 magazines, and a retention holster. Cost: $140.95 | Duration: Half-day

Brian Dalton and Daniel Marquardo maintain current certifications through NRA (Home Firearm Safety, Basic Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, Personal Protection in the Home, Range Safety Officer), Massachusetts State Police BFS, Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification, OC/pepper spray, CPR/AED First Aid, firearms law, use of force, and defensive tactics. They attend yearly instructor development training.
