Full description and what we offer
Uxbridge Rod & Gun Club operates as a full sportsmen's facility with dedicated ranges and programs for rifle, pistol, trap shooting, archery, and freshwater fishing. The club has been a community fixture for serious shooters and hunters across Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
The club maintains: - Rifle range - Chaired by Jim White (401-651-4579) - Pistol range - Led by Russ Hinchliffe (413-313-7037) - Trap & skeet range - Monthly public shoots on Sundays at 10am - Archery ranges - Both 3D course and practice targets, run by John Castonguay (508-320-4359) - Lee Reservoir - Private fishing access for members only
Trap shoots happen every Sunday at 10am. Cost is $6 per round for both members and non-members. The club welcomes new shooters and offers private shoots for those wanting to avoid crowds or learn the sport.
New members submit an LTC, FID, Blue Card, or CORI clearance and complete a brief probationary period (3 club meetings + 20 volunteer work hours). Members pay annual dues renewed by late February each year.
The club runs regular events: - Kids Easter Egg Hunt - Movie nights - Seasonal socials (chicken BBQ, clam bake, porketta) - Monthly archery shoots (April through August) - Pistol games and competitions
Lee Reservoir fishing is members-only with specific regulations: - 3 fish per day limit for full adult members (2 for juniors) - No gas motors on boats/kayaks - Live bait allowed; catch & release with flies/lures only - Corn prohibited
Both traditional and modern bow hunters compete here. The 3D course hosts scheduled shoots where the pistol range closes to prevent conflicts. No broadheads on practice range or 3D course; crossbows restricted to practice range only.
