New England Airgun Inc

In 2012, John and Zee discovered skeet shooting together—a rare activity they both enjoyed. The problem: after the Sandy Hook tragedy, outdoor shooting near their Massachusetts home became complicated. Local sportsmen clubs refused airgun shooters without firearms licenses, even though airguns don't require one under Massachusetts law (they use compressed air, not gunpowder).

Instead of giving up, John and Zee solved the problem by opening the first lead-free, airgun-only indoor shooting range in the United States on Friday the 13th, 2014—a date that turned out to be lucky.

The Range Experience - Climate-controlled indoor shooting (t-shirt weather year-round, no bugs, no sunburn) - 45-minute mandatory safety training covering everything essential - Equipment rentals available - No firearms license required (18+ only)

The Store Started with 1 pistol and 1 rifle model. Now carries: - 1,000+ airguns in stock across multiple onsite storage areas - 100+ brands including AirForce, FX Airguns, Huben, RTI Arms, Air Arms, Daystate, Evanix, Hatsan, Gamo, Benjamin, Crosman, and more - Lead and lead-free pellets and slugs in .177, .22, .25, .30, .357, .45, and .50 caliber - PCP compressors, hand pumps, regulators, and CO2 systems - Scopes, optics, mounts, and suppressors - Targets (paper, reactive, shoot-to-reset, pull-to-reset, animal and military shapes) - Tactical accessories: slings, cases, holsters, bipods - Personal defense items: pepper spray, pepper launchers, Byrna systems

Featured Products - RTI Mora rifles ($2,300–$2,400) — high-end PCP options - Evanix Viper semi-auto pistols ($900–$975) - Skout EVO .30 cal with 25" bull barrel ($2,400) - Barra 1866 CO2 rifles ($290) - NEAG-branded 100-yard benchrest targets

"Airguns are defined by their use of compressed air—not gunpowder—to propel pellets. That's why they're called 'powder burners' in the shooting world. No license needed in most states. Same pellets as firearms shooters. Same precision required."

The Math: - Range time costs money and driving time - Dry fire (trigger work without ammo) costs nothing after initial setup - Airgun target shooting costs far less than powder burners - Year-round indoor access eliminates weather and season limits

New England Airgun actively works with firearms clubs to make ranges airgun-friendly, expanding where shooters can enjoy the sport. In 2025, they're hosting The Berkshire Airgun Challenge (TBAC 2025)—a national 4-day event featuring: - 100-yard benchrest competition - Speed shooting - Big-bore long-distance matches - PSC (Precision Shooter Challenge)

COVID-19 forced a major pivot. Now New England Airgun operates 24/7 through their online store, making them accessible anytime without appointment pressure. Two websites: one for information, one for e-commerce.
