Full description and what we offer
Claytakers operates the shotgun program at Berrien County Sportsman's Club, a 800+ member facility located eight miles from St. Joseph and Benton Harbor. What started as a local shooting club has grown into a comprehensive shotgun sports destination with multiple range types and strong youth programming.
Open to the public on Sundays and Tuesdays. Call ahead about private parties and events.
Members access the full Berrien County Sportsman's Club facility, which includes archery, muzzleloader, pistol, and rifle ranges. The club maintains a 25-site campground and provides trout and salmon fishing on one of Michigan's top trout streams. Winter shooting moves indoors for archery, pistols, and junior rifle programs.
Claytakers runs an active junior shotgun program with over 100 new members joining in 2018 alone. Philip Crowder chairs the trap and skeet program and coaches junior shooters. The club also teaches DNR safe boating, personal protection, and CCW classes.
The club partners with Michigan DNR to raise 38,000 Chinook salmon and 24,000 Steelhead trout in on-site rearing ponds for spring release into the river, generating high return rates each year.
Located 10 miles from Lake Michigan and 40 miles from South Bend, Indiana. The area offers wineries, the House of David Museum, Warren Dunes State Park, and a pre-1840 courthouse museum in nearby Berrien Springs.
