Tri-County Sportsmen's League hosts monthly IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association) matches every 4th Saturday from March through October. Matches test your skill solving simulated self-defense scenarios using practical handguns, holsters, and real ammunition. Two start times available: 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM (11:00 AM in March).
To shoot, bring: - Handgun suitable for self-defense - 150+ rounds of ammunition - Belt-mounted holster covering trigger guard - Concealment garment - At least 3 magazines
Registration through PractiScore required for all matches.
2024 Update: Appendix holsters no longer allowed in monthly club matches (still permitted at the Tri-County Sportsmen Challenge). New .22 caliber divisions added to help shooters preserve ammunition.
Members use multiple ranges:

Want to get involved? TCSL recruits IDPA Safety Officers—certified volunteers who run and officiate matches. Requirements: 21+, completed 6 matches, IDPA member for 6 months minimum. SO certification classes available at SE Michigan IDPA clubs.
Tri-County Sportsmen Challenge is their biggest annual event (Sept 13-15 annually). Appendix holsters allowed here even if banned from monthly matches.

TCSL is an official NRA recruiter and affiliates with the International Defensive Pistol Association, Civilian Marksmanship Program, Amateur Trapshooting Association, and Michigan United Conservation Clubs.
