Full description and what we offer
T.H.E. Great River Archery Club addresses a real problem: the drop in archery participation and hunting over the past decade. Working with the Minnesota Stearns County Parks Department, they've built public archery access where it didn't exist before.
The club offers archery instruction for all age groups, including: - Hunter safety courses - Advanced bow hunter education - Becoming an Outdoor Woman (B.O.W.) courses - Property management and food plot development - Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) - National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) - 4-H and Scouting programs - Adaptive archery for Disabled American Veterans and Wounded Warriors
They run competitive events throughout the year:
| Event | Date | Details |
|---|---|---|
| MSAA 900 | June 28 | Outdoor tournament, 90 arrows at 60/50/40 yards |
| MSAA 50m | June 29 | 72 arrows at 50 meter distance |
| 3D Scramble | June 28 | $20 entry, random 2-person teams, 20 targets |
| Powder Ridge 3D | Aug 15-17 | 40+ targets, $40 adults / $20 youth |
Their Powder Ridge 3D event draws shooters from across the region—first event capable of handling large groups in this area.
Currently in planning stages, the indoor range will fill a major regional gap. Right now, no archery facilities nearby can host instruction or competitions for large groups. Once complete, it'll serve as a destination for both casual shooters and serious competitors.
