Full description and what we offer
The Southern Minnesota Sportsman's Club has been operating since the middle 1920s, built on core principles of sportsmanship and conservation. Today it occupies 64 acres southeast of Rochester and serves as a no-cap membership shooting facility with serious range infrastructure.
The club operates multiple ranges across the property:
All facilities are available to members and their guests.
| Day | Hours |
|---|---|
| Monday–Saturday | 8:00 a.m. to sunset |
| Sunday & Holidays | 9:00 a.m. to sunset |
No shooting after sunset. Check timeanddate.com for Rochester sunset times to confirm daily cutoffs.
New and returning members must complete a required NRA-recommended online safety orientation session. Badge printing must happen in person at the Range Manager's cottage. Once active, members badge in and out to track range utilization.
Hanging gate key available for handicapped access—contact the Range Manager on your first visit.
All members must submit a signed waiver form before their ID badge will open the gate.
The club runs organized shooting leagues including Bullseye and 2 Gun competitions. It's an NRA-affiliated club and registered with the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP)—members can participate in CMP events and purchase firearms through the program. Contact club CMP representative John W Schmidt at (507) 932-5159 or (507) 261-9301 for purchase assistance.
