Own Timm Arms Co.?
01 // DETAILS
Full description and what we offer
Timm Arms Co. started because the owners saw a gap in the market: most gunsmiths work on hunting rifles, but nobody was focusing on duty, competition, and defensive firearms. That's what they do now.
They handle gunsmithing and armorer services for carry handguns, AR-15s, and tactical shotguns. They're a Class 3 licensed NFA dealer, which means they can help you acquire suppressors, machine guns, and short-barreled rifles at competitive prices—often beating large chain stores.
They also process FFL transfers if you're buying from another dealer:
| Item Type | Transfer Fee |
|---|---|
| Handguns, Rifles, Shotguns | $50 |
| Each additional item | $20 |
| Silencers & SBRs | $100 |
| Machine guns | $150 |
Important transfer details: - Must contact them by phone or email to arrange - Items held for 14 days at no charge; after that, $25/week or $100/month storage - Blind transfers (no advance notice) cost $60 due to handling logistics - Payment for transfers is cash only
Their sister company, Learning Firearms, handles all their coursework plus hosts classes from industry instructors. This connection means you can get your firearm serviced and trained on in the same place.
If you're military, first responder, or contractor and need to hold a firearm longer while deployed or working, they'll waive storage fees. Just let them know.
This is a part-time operation. They're honest about it—appointments generally run weekdays 11am–2pm, but can be arranged outside those hours. They recommend other local FFLs if you need regular storefront hours or faster turnaround. When they charge higher transfer fees than some competitors, it's because transfers pull them away from their main work.
